Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (Iranian President)


Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the 6th president of Iran, was born 28 October 1956 in Aradan, in province of Seman of Iran.   Mr Ahmadinejad was also the main political leader of the Alliance of Builders of Islamic Iran, a coalition of conservative political groups in Iran.
Having a poor background of engineer and teacher he joined the Office for Strengthening Unity after Islamic Revolution in Iran.  Mr. Ahmadinijad was appointed as provincial governor but was removed from this post after the election of President Mohammad Khatami.  He rejoined the profession of teaching.   




Early Life

His father name was “Ahmad”, an ironworker, grocer, barber, blacksmith.  Ahmad was a Shia Muslim and taught the Quran.  Mr. Ahmadinijad mother name was “Khanom” a Sayyida family  woman, to be considered a very noble and pious family. 
In 1976, Ahmadinejad participate in entrance contest of Iran National University.  As per his biography he was ranked at 132nd out of 400000 participants that year.  He was enrolled as an undergraduate student of Civil Technology in Iran University of Science and Technology in Tehran.  He achieved his PhD in transportation engineering and planning from IUDT in 1997.  In those days he was the Mayor of Ardbil province located in the north-west of Iran.  
Supporters of Ahmadenejad consider him a Simple Man, who leads a simple kife.  Being a president, he continue living in his inherited house in Tehran with his family, even his security advisor insisted that he should move.   He uses old carpets in his house.  He is said to have refused the VIP seat in the Presidential plane and has also replaced his plane with a cargo plane.  Being a president, he held his first cabinet meeting in the Holy shrine  of Imam Reza (A.S) at Mashhad, an act considered as pious.
